Chinese man climbs 26th-floor balcony of Pattaya luxury hotel, sparking emergency response.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A tense scene unfolded in central Pattaya on August 9 when a Chinese man, believed to be a tourist, climbed onto the balcony of a luxury 5-star hotel’s 26th floor on Beach Road, appearing ready to jump. Witnesses quickly alerted police.

Officers from Pattaya City Police Station and rescue workers rushed to the scene, immediately beginning negotiations to persuade the man to step down. After more than 90 minutes without success, officials called in Pattaya’s fire department to deploy an air cushion as a safety precaution.



The incident drew a large crowd of concerned onlookers, including tourists and passersby, who stopped to watch anxiously from the street below.

Rescue teams continued their efforts until, after more than two hours, they managed to convince the man to return to his hotel room and come down safely. He was then escorted to Pattaya City Police Station for support and further inquiry into the circumstances that led to the incident.
