PATTAYA, Thailand – A British tourist was arrested after allegedly slashing another British man during a violent altercation inside a beer bar office in Pattaya early Sunday morning, March 8.

Rescue volunteers from Sawang Boriboon received a report of an assault with injuries at around 12:36 a.m. on March 8 at a beer bar located in Soi Pattaya Beach 13. Officers from Pattaya City Police Station were immediately notified and rushed to the scene alongside rescue personnel.

Upon arrival, responders found a British man, believed to be between 50 and 60 years old and working as the bar’s manager, suffering from a serious facial wound caused by a sharp object. The injury stretched more than 10 centimeters across his face and required approximately 30 stitches.

Rescue workers administered initial first aid at the scene before urgently transporting the injured man to hospital, where he remained under close medical supervision.

Witnesses said the suspect was also a British national and part of a group of acquaintances who frequently visited the bar to see the manager. Staff initially did not suspect anything unusual until they noticed the office door shaking and shadows suggesting a struggle inside.

Moments later, one suspect reportedly fled the scene while another was restrained by bystanders and handed over to police.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Police took the detained suspect to Pattaya City Police Station for questioning while investigators launched a search for the second individual who escaped. Authorities said further legal action will follow as the investigation continues.
