A 6-year-old boy was saved from drowning by a guardian in Jomtien Beach.

Young Thanaklit Ruangdara was pulled from the sea near Jomtien Soi 13 by Lom Udom, 31, on Nov. 14. The rescuer managed to resuscitate him and the boy was taken to the hospital where he was treated for other minor injuries as well.

Lom said he was watching Thanaklit and two other youngsters playing in the water near him. One moment the boy was fine and next he was missing, with the other two panicking.

The guardian dove in and pulled the boy from deeper water. He wasn’t breathing when he came to the surface, but Lom gave him rescue breaths and CPR, which saved the child’s life.
