The public and private sectors should be focusing on safety, property, tourists, waste disposal, the environment and public roads.

Because those issues aren’t ones only a single party can tackle alone, people must work together, he said. Business owners, for example, must not only look after themselves, but ensure tourists are not taken advantage of.

In the case of large quantities of waste, especially when it affects the environment, it is important to acknowledge the problem and take action as soon as possible to manage the issue.

On issues related to land and water traffic, people must help prevent possible accidents. Road conditions must be acceptable, Naris added.

A proper public utility system for Pattaya is the responsibility of every person in the area, he said. By taking responsibility to make everything tidy and peaceful, government officials can work, businesses can function and tourists can return home happy and impressed.
