PATTAYA, Thailand – The Marine Department is moving ahead with plans to demolish and rebuild a new pier on Koh Larn, aiming to improve capacity, safety, and overall travel experience for both Thai and international tourists.
Officials say the existing pier has begun to deteriorate and is no longer sufficient to handle the growing number of visitors traveling between Pattaya and the island, particularly during peak tourism seasons.
The new project is designed to upgrade marine transport infrastructure to modern, international standards, allowing for increased passenger boat capacity, reducing congestion, and improving convenience for travelers.
Beyond infrastructure, the redevelopment is expected to strengthen Pattaya’s tourism image, aligning with the sector’s recovery and supporting economic growth across local businesses, including tour operators, shops, and service providers on Koh Larn.
Authorities believe the upgraded pier will also enhance confidence in water transport safety, ensuring Koh Larn remains a top destination for visitors in the years ahead.
