A convicted gun and pirated-goods dealer has been arrested for allegedly trying to sell five kilograms of marijuana to a tourist.
Sanya “Tamarind Tree Agent” Sae-uey was apprehended by Central Investigation Bureau, Immigration and Transnational Crime police at an upscale hotel on Naklua Road Oct. 30.
Officers seized the five kilos of ganja, 85,000 baht cash and a Toyota pickup truck.
Sanya popped up on authorities’ radar after claims he was spotted selling marijuana to tourists on Walking Street. A foreign undercover informant was used to set up a large drug buy where police were waiting.
He was charged with selling a Class 5 narcotic.
