919 conscripts enter Naval Rating School

More than 900 conscripts have begun their journey to become sailors at Sattahip’s Naval Rating School.

Rear Adm. Chorchat Krated, deputy director-general of the Naval Education Department, presided over the April 30 entrance examinations for 919 recruits.

Chorchat said the test focuses on transparency and abilities of personnel based on Naval Rating School’s plan to develop the Royal Thai Navy.

More than 900 conscripts have begun their journey to become sailors at Sattahip’s Naval Rating School.

Capt. Wirat Somjit, who oversaw the examination session, said those passing the entrance examinations will be trained in public education for a month and the practice basic naval courses prior to additional study in each specialty.
