Pattaya tourist police arrested 14 Chinese nationals for working illegally.
Division commander Lt. Col. Piyapong Ensarn led officers in the Aug. 8 raid on a construction camp on Soi Paniadchang amid reports of illegal aliens laboring there.
A restaurant was being built by 14 workers there, all Chinese. Foreman Long Ling, 41, was arrested immediately, along with his crew, all of whom lacked work permits.
Ling told police he and his gang started working on the restaurant July 27, where they were offered 300 yuan (1,500 baht) a day.
