PATTAYA, Thailand – While the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) warned of heavy to very heavy rain across several parts of Thailand, Pattaya Beach saw a brief afternoon downpour before the sunshine returned on Saturday, October 10.

The TMD’s latest warning, issued on October 10, forecast thunderstorms, gusty winds and isolated heavy to very heavy rain from October 10 to 13, with some areas also at risk of flash floods, overflowing waterways and landslides. The forecast covered parts of northern, northeastern, central, eastern and southern Thailand, including Bangkok and surrounding areas.

In Pattaya, the rain came down heavily for around 15 minutes in the afternoon before clearing, allowing sunshine to return to the beachfront. Tourists continued to enjoy the sand and sea, with some lying on the beach while others held umbrellas as the weather shifted. The contrasting scenes offered a reminder of Thailand’s changeable October weather, with rain threatening some areas while beachgoers in Pattaya were soon back enjoying the sunshine.
