PATTAYA, Thailand – The Thai Meteorological Department has issued warnings for nine provinces to prepare for heavy rain, flash floods, and potential landslides. Areas under alert include Tak, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Loei, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Residents in these regions are advised to stay vigilant, especially in low-lying areas, near waterways, and at the base of hills.

The weather system is influenced by the monsoon trough stretching across central and northeastern Thailand, along with the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea. Sea conditions are expected to be rough, with waves reaching 1–2 meters in the upper Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Mitag over the Guangdong Sea in China has weakened to a depression and is expected to further dissipate rapidly. Travelers heading toward that region should continue to monitor weather updates.

For Pattaya, the outlook is reassuring. The city and surrounding coastal areas remain dry, giving tourists and locals the freedom to enjoy beachside walks, sunbathing, or dining outdoors without concern for heavy rain. Visitors can relax along Pattaya Beach and nearby promenades, confident that no severe weather is expected locally.
