Bangkok, Thailand – Founded on September 28, 1956, Skål International Bangkok has long been recognized as one of Asia’s most respected networking clubs for hospitality and tourism professionals. As Club No. 153 within Skål International, it continues to connect industry leaders while adapting to the fast-changing dynamics of the global tourism sector.
The club is increasingly leveraging social media and digital platforms to engage younger professionals, ensuring that new members can join while maintaining the strong foundation of relationships built over decades.
A Legacy of Global Connection
Skål International originated in 1932 in Paris, when a group of travel professionals—including agents, hoteliers, airline representatives, railway executives, and cruise operators—came together after a Scandinavian familiarization trip. Their shared spirit of friendship and collaboration led to the formal establishment of Skål International in 1934, with Paris as Club No. 1.
Today, the movement has expanded across Asia and globally, with over 12,500 members in more than 300 cities worldwide. In the region, Jakarta (Club No. 13) is the oldest chapter, while Bangkok (Club No. 153) has grown into one of the most dynamic and influential chapters.

Monthly Networking with Impact
Skål Bangkok hosts its regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, except in April during the Songkran holiday. These events—ranging from lunch gatherings to evening cocktail receptions—offer tourism professionals a platform for meaningful connections, business development, and knowledge exchange.
Held at the renowned Spectrum venue on the 29th floor, meetings combine exceptional hospitality with panoramic city views, solidifying the club’s reputation as a premier networking experience in Bangkok. Hotels frequently use these events to showcase new concepts, menus, and service innovations, fostering a friendly yet spirited competition that enriches the experience for all members.
Strong Sponsor Support
A key strength of Skål Bangkok lies in its sponsors, whose support helps reduce event management costs while ensuring high-quality food and beverage offerings at every gathering. This collaborative model keeps the club accessible while maintaining exceptional standards.
Looking Ahead: Regional and Global Engagement
While the individual club is at the heart of Skål, members are connected to a wider network of regional and international events.
The upcoming Skål Asia Congress will be held in Macau from June 11–14 at the Grand Lisboa Palace, gathering industry leaders from across the region. On the global stage, the annual Skål World Congress remains the organization’s flagship event. The 2026 Skål World Congress will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from October 5–10, continuing the tradition of rotating destinations and reinforcing Skål’s commitment to international collaboration.

A Club for the Future
As the tourism and hospitality sector evolves, Skål International Bangkok is positioning itself at the intersection of tradition and innovation. By embracing digital engagement, expanding outreach, and maintaining its community-driven ethos, the club is ensuring its relevance for years to come.
For hoteliers, travel professionals, and tourism entrepreneurs, Skål Bangkok continues to provide a unique platform to connect, collaborate, and grow within a trusted global network.
