PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya continues its push to improve public safety with a new lighting upgrade project along Krating Lai Beach in the north of Pattaya, aimed at increasing visibility and confidence for both residents and tourists during nighttime hours.

The project includes the replacement and enhancement of electrical systems within existing light poles, along with the installation of 12 high mast lighting towers. Each tower is fitted with nine lamps, designed to provide wide and consistent illumination across the beachfront.

Officials say the upgrade will help eliminate dark spots, improve visibility, and reduce the risk of incidents in less-lit areas, particularly during late-night hours when safety concerns are often heightened.

The initiative is part of Pattaya’s broader effort to raise safety standards across key tourist zones, reinforcing its image as a secure and welcoming destination.

City authorities emphasize that improving infrastructure such as lighting plays a crucial role in crime prevention and public reassurance, supporting the vision of Pattaya as a city where visitors can feel safe at any time of day.
