PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya has become an increasingly popular destination among Russian tourists traveling with their families, thanks to the city’s ongoing infrastructure improvements. Enhanced hotels, cleaner beaches, better roads, and more child-friendly facilities have made the resort city more appealing — while prices remain relatively affordable. The trend is helping Pattaya catch up with Phuket in the competitive Russian tourism market.
Tour operators report that bookings for Pattaya tour packages during the summer of 2025 are projected to rise by 15–30% from the previous year. According to the company FUN&SUN, one in three Russian tourists booking trips to Pattaya now belong to the “family with children” segment — signaling a clear shift in Pattaya’s image from a nightlife hub to a well-rounded family resort destination.
Analysts attribute this success to strong urban management and infrastructure development that caters to quality tourism. Many hotels have introduced new family zones, while the ongoing expansion of U-Tapao Airport is expected to further boost international arrivals.
Thai government has designated tourism as a national agenda, focusing on generating income, stimulating the economy, and raising service standards to international levels. Key priorities include safety and sustainability, alongside the promotion of the “Zero Food Waste” initiative to reduce food waste and community litter. These efforts aim to strengthen Pattaya and Chonburi’s image as green, livable, and sustainable tourism cities recognized worldwide.
