PATTAYA, Thailand – Deputy Mayor Krissana Boonsawat chaired a meeting to finalize preparations for the regional finals of the “Authentic Muaythai: From Grassroots to Global” competition. The session, held at Pattaya City Hall, included heads of city departments, the competition organizing committee, and representatives from the Professional Boxing Association of Thailand.
The organizing committee announced a change in the competition schedule: the finals, originally set for September 8–9 in Chonburi, will now take place on September 9–10 at a temporary ring at Laem Bali Hai, Pattaya. The adjustment aims to ensure smooth operations and achieve the event’s objectives.
Deputy Mayor Krissana emphasized that Pattaya is ready to host the tournament, which will promote tourism, stimulate the local economy, and generate income for the community. The city is also working to position itself as a “Sports City” and a hub for sports tourism, while advancing Thailand’s sports sector, particularly in extreme and water sports—key drivers of sustainable tourism development.
