PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is experiencing scorching hot conditions, even as light rain fell in the city after sunset, according to the Meteorological Department. While rainfall across Thailand has decreased overall, heavy showers are still expected in some northern and northeastern provinces, raising the risk of flash floods and flash floods in hilly and low-lying areas.

The department forecasted that across the next 24 hours, Thailand will see reduced rain overall, though heavy showers could occur in isolated areas of the north and northeast. A weakened southwest monsoon covers the Andaman Sea, the Gulf of Thailand, and the country, while upper northern and Laotian monsoon troughs and low-pressure systems over northern Vietnam influence local weather.

In Pattaya and the Bangkok metropolitan area, scattered thunderstorms are expected in about 40% of the area, with temperatures ranging from 25–35°C and southwest winds at 10–20 km/h. Residents are advised to remain cautious of localized rain and sudden downpours, particularly in flood-prone or low-lying areas.
