PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City has approved funding for 17 additional public health projects, expanding local efforts to promote healthy living, prevent illness and improve access to healthcare for residents of all age groups. Deputy Mayor Wutthisak Rermkijakarn chaired the second meeting of the Pattaya City Health Security Fund Executive Committee for fiscal year 2027 on November 4 at Pattaya City Hall. Committee members, city officials and community representatives attended.
The Public Health and Environment Office presented the fund’s financial position for the first quarter and proposed additional budget support for 17 projects, comprising both ongoing programs and new initiatives. The projects cover health promotion, disease prevention, rehabilitation and proactive healthcare, with the aim of reaching different groups across the community.
The Pattaya City Health Security Fund operates through cooperation between government agencies and the public, allowing organizations and community groups to propose projects addressing local health needs. Its programs encourage residents to take greater responsibility for their health through regular exercise, stronger physical fitness and measures to reduce the risk of illness.
The committee approved all 17 proposals, saying they would benefit Pattaya residents and comply with the guidelines governing local health security funds. The projects also support the city administration’s policy of improving residents’ quality of life and overall well-being.
Wutthisak said Pattaya City was ready to support initiatives that promote public health and improve residents’ well-being. He said community participation was essential to ensuring people could take an active role in looking after their own health and that of their neighbors. He added that the city would continue working to make health promotion activities accessible to residents across all groups, as part of its goal of becoming a “sustainable healthy city”.
