PATTAYA, Thailand – Immigration police chief Pol Lt Gen Noppasin Poolsawat led a meeting with local authorities on October 21 to coordinate security measures for Pattaya and major tourist destinations in Chonburi, focusing on immigration violations and transnational crime. The meeting brought together senior Immigration Bureau officers, Chonburi provincial police, Tourist Police, local administrative authorities and Pattaya City representatives to improve cooperation and strengthen tourist safety.
Officials outlined proactive operations involving inspections of tourist areas, businesses and accommodation establishments, checks on the legal status of foreign nationals, monitoring of suspicious individuals and investigations into people potentially linked to criminal activities. The aim is to prevent tourist destinations from being used as hiding places or bases for illegal operations.
Authorities also plan to use technology, including artificial intelligence and facial-recognition systems, to help identify and track people wanted under arrest warrants. Sharing information between agencies is expected to support investigations and enable faster action.

Pol Lt Gen Noppasin and Pol Maj Gen Songprod Sirisukha, commander of Immigration Division 3, instructed officers to accelerate investigations, arrests and the deportation of foreign nationals found to have violated Thai law. The operation follows the Immigration Bureau’s four guiding principles: proactive security, intelligence-led operations, dismantling criminal networks and providing services to international standards.
Before leaving the Immigration Office on Jomtien Soi 5, Pol Lt Gen Noppasin walked through the premises, greeting visitors and speaking with them directly. He emphasized the importance of faster, more efficient and professional immigration services.
Authorities said enforcement efforts would go hand in hand with transparent and professional services for lawful travellers and investors entering Thailand. Members of the public with information about suspected offences can contact the Immigration Bureau hotline at 1178 or visit www.immigration.go.th.
