PATTAYA, Thailand – For travelers heading to Pattaya and nearby destinations, convenient and reliable taxi services are available at Bangkok’s Mo Chit Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), also known as Mo Chit 2. Since August 11, the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) has relocated the taxi service pick-up point during early morning hours (now extended from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.) to platforms 96–98 at Bay 2 of the terminal.
This change aims to provide passengers with a more organized, comfortable, and safe environment when hiring taxis. The taxi queue is now well-managed, reducing wait times and improving the overall service experience. Importantly, taxis parking at this designated area do not incur any parking fees, allowing for smoother and more cost-efficient operations.
Passengers who need to use BMTA bus services can continue to board and alight at the flagpole area in front of the Mo Chit 2 station building as usual.
It’s important to note that the taxi stand at Bay 2 is a restricted area, accessible only to authorized passengers and staff. Unauthorized persons entering the area may face legal action. Passengers are encouraged to ensure that taxi drivers charge fares honestly and behave politely, whether traveling domestically or as foreign tourists. For longer trips to popular tourist destinations like Pattaya, travelers should keep the taxi’s license plate number as proof and report any issues immediately to terminal staff.
This new system at Mo Chit Bus Terminal promises safer, more efficient taxi service for travelers making their way to Pattaya and other nearby cities.
