With the rainy season approaching, Pattaya Hospital between Soi Buakow and 3rd Road is offering free influenza vaccinations through August 31.

Hospital Director Rung­napa Thapnonghee announced May 28 the hospital has 4,000 doses of the vaccine. She also said this would not be enough for everyone, so priority is being given to women who are at least 4 months pregnant, infants & children from the age of 6 months to 2 years, chronic disease patients (all ages), and elderly residents 65 years or older, along with nurses, medics and volunteers who work in the field for prevention.

Representatives of the Disease Control Division said a total of 170,000 flu cases have been recorded since January 2017 resulting in 49 deaths.

People wishing to receive the vaccine should inquire at the hospital or the Disease Control Office on Pattaya Beach Road.
