BANGKOK, 5 September 2014 – The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Index today ended the week positive at 1,584.32, moving along with the continuous rise in consumer confidence, greater political stability and the people’s increasing faith in the country’s economic recovery. Thailand’s SET Index went up 4.59 points, or 0.29%, on turnover of 44.326 billion baht. The Construction Materials sector led the gains with 244.91 points or 2.12% to 11,781.14. Meanwhile the two biggest gainers of the day were The International Engineering Plc. (IEC) from the Information & Communication Technology sector followed by Boutique Newcity Plc. (BTNC) in the fashion sector. The Bluechip SET 50 Index closed positive at 1,059.57, up 2.70 points or 0.26%, accounting for 18.858 billion baht. The MAI Index also closed positive at 675.26, up 9.23 points, or 1.39%, while accounting for 14.109 billion baht.
