State employees ask NLA to consider extending pension benefits to non-civil servants

BANGKOK, 19 September 2014 – The association of state agency employees has called on the National Legislative Assembly to look into extending civil servants’ pension law to cover non-civil servant employees.

Atthaphon Ngamdi, the president of the association of state agency employees on Thursday handed Tuang Anthachai, member of the National Legislative Assembly (NLA), a letter requesting that the NLA consider extending the benefits stipulated under the draft bill on civil servants’ pensions and benefits to cover permanent employees of state agencies.

The NLA member also accepted a letter from Mr. Anusan Sonsinlaphong, representative of the association of education area offices of the Northeastern Region. In this letter, the association asked that the NLA provide support to the reform of education.
