Pattaya’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department has stepped up boat inspections as high season draws more tourists to Koh Larn.

Officers are dispatched to Koh Larn each day at 9 a.m. to beaches and piers to monitor tourist safety around the water.

Officers use both their eyes and CCTV cameras to look for dangerous situations and respond to accidents on the sea.

The department also is working with other government agencies and police to guard tourists’ safety and respond to accidents or crimes. Reports are filed daily to hold officers accountable.

In Pattaya, officers are patrolling the entire length of the beach each day to ensure that boats leaving from the sand put all customers in life jackets and have proper licenses.
