BANGKOK, Aug 21 – The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) announced that the country’s MICE business continues to grow and could generate more than Bt64 billion in revenue for the country in this quarter.

TCEB president Nopparat Methaveekulchaim said that MICE income — meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions  — was earned in Q3 this year, a 12-per cent growth year-on-year, while MICE could attract over 747,000 foreigners to the country.

He said the Asian market gained the market share at 72 per cent, generating over Bt46 billion.

TCEB is confident that the business will grow 5-10 per cent this year. The number of foreign investors entering Thailand is expected at around 940,000 persons, creating income of more than Bt88 billion. Marketing activities are to be held on a continuing basis in China and the ASEAN countries, Mr Nopporat added.
