BANGKOK, 28 September 2013 Deputy Commerce Minister Yanyong Phuangrat met with representatives of retailers Big C, Lotus, and Makro, to discuss using their combined 2,000 stores to help bring down the cost of living for the public.

According to Mr. Yanyong, all 3 hypermarket operators agreed to host special sales of discounted goods until the end of the year. Items to be put on sale include eggs, vegetable oil, sugar, vegetables, meat, detergent, soap, toothpaste and ready-made food.
