BANGKOK, 1 June 2012 -Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mr. Kittiratt Na Ranong has admitted that trade protectionist measures remain effective in many countries, and that Thailand will begin to relax its measures for imported goods before the ASEAN Economic Community takes place. The Finance Minister explained that many countries still keep the protectionist measures to help businessmen in their own countries. However, Thailand will lift some of its measures against foreign imports to pave the way for the AEC in 2015.
