BANGKOK, 18 October 2013 Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Ning Fukui called on Deputy PM and Commerce Minister Niwatthamrong Boonsongpaisan to discuss trade of agricultural goods and other cooperation projects under the frameworks of six memorandums of understanding recently concluded between the two countries.

Minister Niwatthamrong said that he and the Ambassador discussed how both countries would work together under the MoUs as the matter will also be on the agenda of his visit to the People’s Republic of China later this month. The minister said his visit will be focusing on such agricultural goods as rice and para rubber. He is set to leave for China this October 26th.

As for the US’s economic outlook, the Minister told Ambassador Ning that there has been some positive signs in the Thai economy after the US Congress ended a two-week government shutdown by extending the country’s borrowing authority until February next year.
