BANGKOK, 30 August 2011  – The Committee on Energy Policy Administration (CEPA) has decided to adjust the Oil Fund levies on Gasohol 95, 91 and E20 with an aim to keep their prices lower than benzene.

After a meeting with CEPA, Energy Minister Pichai Naripthaphan announced that the committee had resolved to restructure the prices of the gasohol group in a bid to allow gasohol products to remain cheaper than benzene and to encourage motorists to continue using gasohol.

Based on the committee’s resolution, the levy on Gasohol 95 will be reduced from 2.40 THB a liter to 1.40 THB. On the other hand, the collection on Gasohol 91 and E20 will be raised from 10 satang a liter to 1.40 THB a liter and from 1.30 THB a liter to 2.80 THB a liter respectively.

As a consequence, the price of Benzene 91 will be equivalent to that of Gasohol 95 and more expensive than Gasohol 91 and E20 by 3.04 THB and 4.54 THB per liter respectively.

Meanwhile, following the price restructuring, PTT and Bangchak have announced a decrease of their retail prices for Gasohol 95 by 1.07 THB per liter and Gasohol 91 and E20 by 1.60 THB per liter, effective tomorrow.
