BANGKOK, July 1 –  CP All Pcl, Thailand’s largest convenience store operator, is confident that this year’s sales will grow by 5-6 per cent as targeted earlier, due to high consumer purchasing power, said Piyawat Titasattavorakul, CP All Managing Director.

Consumer purchasing power in the first half of this year has risen as a result of 4.5 per cent economic growth, export expansion and political situation with less disturbances, Mr Piyawat said.

He believed that purchasing power in the second half of this year will remain high. Food, drinks and bakery products in particular recorded rising sales.

The company will focus on increasing ready meals and will increase the number of franchise stores to reach 7,000 7-Eleven convenience stores in the next two years.

The company also plans to increase its franchise ratio from 48 per cent to 70 per cent. Currently, the company itself runs 52 per cent of all 7-11 stores.
