Motorbike drivers in South Pattaya seem to think that plastic barriers erected to prevent crossing at a dangerous intersection don’t apply to them.
Drivers were seen regularly passing through the orange pylons blocking the entrance of Soi Khopai at South Pattaya Road. City hall put in the cones to stop drivers from crossing over directly from Soi Bongkot, to reduce both accidents and traffic congestion.
Barriers? Where? A fine example of motorists short cutting through the barriers and causing traffic jams.
With the additional time needed for cyclists to carve through the barriers, traffic is even worse. In addition, the city-owned cones are being damaged by the bikers.
Local residents say that if city hall is serious about controlling traffic it should install better barriers or have officers monitor the intersection.
