Their message may have been lost on the Buddhist audience, but more than a dozen Christian music groups from around the world sang God’s praises at the Pattaya International Gospel Music Festival.

Pattaya Business & Tourism Association member Rattanachai Sutidechanai and city tourism-promotion chief Ornwora Kornpin opened the March 18 concert at Central Festival Pattaya Beach.

Pattaya-based American band Posie Samuels & Friends led the lineup of acts that included HisPop from South Korea, Crossfire from the Philippines, Borthers in Christ Hanoi from Vietnam, Clive & the Now Generation from Namibia and T4D + Annie + Mei Wei of Malaysia.

Thailand was represented by both expat and Thai singers including Coconut Sunday, an internationally regarded pop band that also does some Christian rock, the Canadian One Way Sriracha, Christ Crew from Chiang Mai and deejays from Vitamin Academy in Bangkok.

Organizers called the event a big success that might be repeated.
