Tourist Police and AirAsia staff return a mobile phone to a Polish traveller at Don Mueang Airport after it was left in a Grab car.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Tourist Police at Don Mueang Airport helped a Polish traveller recover a mobile phone left in a Grab car just before an international flight on October 30.

The traveller contacted Tourist Police at around 8am after realising that a Sony mobile phone had been left in the vehicle. He had been dropped off at Terminal 2, Level 3, Gate 9, and was due to fly to Hanoi at approximately 9.55am.

With time running short, officers coordinated with the airport’s CCTV control room to identify the vehicle. The footage helped them establish that the car was a white BYD with Bangkok registration 7 Kho Do 7869. Police then traced the driver and contacted him, asking him to return the missing phone to the airport. At around 9.30am, the driver arrived at the Tourist Police office with the device.

Officers subsequently coordinated with AirAsia staff to arrange delivery of the phone to the passenger inside Gate 3. The mobile was successfully handed back before the traveller’s departure. The case highlights the role of Tourist Police in assisting visitors with urgent problems during their journeys. Travellers in Thailand can contact the Tourist Police hotline at 1155 for assistance.
