Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari continues Queen Sirikit’s legacy, reimagining traditional Thai textiles for younger generations while supporting local artisans and preserving cultural heritage.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Building on the royal aspiration of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother to promote and develop Thai fabrics in ways that suit contemporary lifestyles, Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari has carried forward Her Majesty’s mission under the concept of “Fun with Thai Fabrics.” This royal vision seeks to preserve Thai wisdom while creatively developing Thai textiles and craftsmanship.

Her Royal Highness has brought together design expertise, contemporary fashion, and local wisdom. She has also graciously provided guidance on the development of fabrics, patterns, colors, and tailoring techniques to elevate Thai textiles and make them suitable for modern designs, everyday wear, and people of all ages and backgrounds, for every occasion.

Once traditionally associated with formal and official attire, Thai fabrics have been reimagined through a contemporary lens and introduced to the international fashion arena. At the same time, they continue to reflect Thailand’s unique cultural identity and preserve the value of traditional craftsmanship.

This creative evolution does not mean abandoning tradition. Rather, it represents the continuation of Thai heritage by preserving its cultural roots while adapting it to contemporary lifestyles.

As Thai fabrics become increasingly popular among younger generations, who wear them with both enjoyment and pride, their value extends beyond fashion trends. Their development also generates tangible benefits for weavers, artisans, and local communities by creating jobs, generating income, and improving livelihoods in a sustainable manner. (PRD)
