PATTAYA, Thailand – Marine officials inspected boats and passenger safety arrangements at South Pattaya Pier on October 31 as part of the Pattaya Model program to improve safety on local waterways. The inspection was conducted by the Marine Department’s Pattaya Marine Office, Region 6, focusing on preventive patrols and checks to ensure vessels operating in the area meet safety requirements.
Officers examined crew qualifications and certificates, vessel seaworthiness, engine noise levels, registration documents and onboard safety equipment to ensure everything was complete and in working condition.
Boat operators were also reminded to check that all tourists and passengers are wearing life jackets before every departure from the pier. The inspections form part of the Pattaya Model strategic plan, which aims to improve safety standards for marine transport and protect tourists using Pattaya’s waterways.
