PATTAYA, Thailand – A 32-year-old Uzbek woman survived a dramatic fall from the eighth floor of a Pattaya condominium after jumping naked into a swimming pool following a late-night argument with a 41-year-old Turkish man, who was left with a bleeding head wound. The incident occurred at approximately 3am on October 31 at Laguna Beach Resort 1 condominium in Nongprue, Banglamung district, Chonburi.
Police from Pattaya City Police Station’s Dongtan Curve substation, Tourist Police and Sawang Boriboon Pattaya rescue workers rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a violent altercation and a person jumping from a high-rise building. Rescuers found the 32-year-old Uzbek woman in the condominium’s swimming pool after she fell from room 812 on the eighth floor. Remarkably, she appeared to have escaped serious injury, although she showed signs of intoxication and was incoherent. Rescue workers used a cloth to cover her.
The 41-year-old Turkish man was waiting nearby for assistance with a bleeding head injury. Rescue workers provided first aid. An inspection of the eighth-floor room revealed what appeared to be signs of a struggle, along with equipment used for consuming cannabis. Police documented the scene and collected evidence.
A rescue volunteer said his team had initially been alerted that someone was threatening to jump from the building. When they arrived, they saw the woman standing naked on the eighth-floor balcony, shouting and appearing intoxicated. Despite attempts by police and condominium staff to reach her, she suddenly jumped into the swimming pool in front of them.
According to preliminary accounts, the couple had been involved in a serious argument inside the room. The Turkish man reportedly sustained a head injury and ran downstairs to seek help, while the woman locked herself inside and refused to let anyone enter. She later went out onto the balcony, appearing ready to jump. Police and condominium staff were still trying to find a way into the room when she leapt into the pool. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation, question those involved and establish exactly what happened before deciding on further legal action.
