BANGKOK, Thailand – The Thai government, through the Tourism Authority of Thailand, has partnered with nine leading private tourism associations to launch the “Amazing Thailand Travel with Tour” campaign, offering group transport subsidies of up to 40,000 baht per trip to stimulate domestic travel and generate more than 208.8 million baht for local economies.
Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Laksameesangchan announced on October 19, 2026, that the campaign will promote inter-provincial travel from October 15, 2026, to January 31, 2027. Travelers can choose from a variety of specialized tour packages, including religious pilgrimages, cultural and historical tours, nature retreats, wellness, adventure, corporate social responsibility, educational study visits, and community-based experiential tourism.
To lower group travel costs, the Tourism Authority of Thailand subsidizes variable transport expenses for eligible itineraries. Tour buses with at least 30 passengers receive 10,000 baht per day, up to 40,000 baht per trip. Passenger vans with at least six travelers receive 2,500 baht per day, up to 10,000 baht per trip. Eligible trips must be inter-provincial, last at least two days and one night, and include an overnight stay outside the originating province.
The government expects this scheme to distribute revenue throughout the hospitality supply chain, benefiting hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and local communities nationwide.
