Pattaya continues road improvement work on Second Road near Central Pattaya, with resurfacing delays pushing the revised completion deadline to October 22 and underground cable work continuing separately.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Repairs to Pattaya Second Road around the Central Pattaya intersection and the route towards Dolphin Roundabout have faced delays from heavy rain, with the city revising its completion deadline to October 22, 2026.

The road resurfacing project was launched in July after years of excavation for water pipes, drainage infrastructure and underground power cables left sections of the road badly deteriorated. The work is designed to improve road conditions and safety while reducing the need for further excavation.

The first phase covers approximately 1.5 kilometer from the Central Pattaya intersection towards Dolphin Roundabout. The existing road surface is removed and replaced with new asphalt concrete, while other sections are being resurfaced using an overlay method.

Pattaya Mayor Poramet Ngampichet inspected road improvement and underground cabling work on October 8, directing officials to keep the projects on schedule and minimize disruption to motorists. The city has also said the remaining overhead power and communication infrastructure will be removed in stages, with power poles expected to be gone by March 2027.

Freshly painted lane markings brighten the Central Pattaya intersection, giving drivers clearer guidance while road improvement work continues along Pattaya Second Road towards Dolphin Roundabout.
