Pattaya is resurfacing 3.4 kilometers of Phaniad Chang Road with new asphalt and replacement drainage manhole covers, with work scheduled for completion by January 18, 2027.

PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya City has launched a road resurfacing project covering approximately 3.4 kilometers of Phaniad Chang Road (Soi Yume), central Pattaya, with completion scheduled for January 18, 2027, following a coordinated effort to minimize disruption to motorists and nearby residents.

Deputy Mayor Manot Nongyai chaired the project’s kick-off meeting at Pattaya City Hall on October 9, joined by Assistant Mayor’s Secretary Chukiat Nongyai, the director of the Engineering Office, municipal department heads, relevant officials and representatives of the contractor. The meeting focused on coordinating the construction schedule, preventing repeated excavation of the same sections and preparing measures to reduce traffic disruption during the work.


The project involves laying a new asphaltic concrete surface over the existing deteriorated concrete road, together with replacing drainage manhole covers. The resurfacing will cover approximately 3,477 meters, with the road surface ranging from six to eight meters in width.

According to the contract, work runs from October 1, 2026, to January 18, 2027. The city expects the improvements to be completed in time for the New Year travel period. Officials are coordinating the work to reduce inconvenience for road users while improving the condition and usability of this important local route.
