Floodwater falls in Chonburi’s Phan Thong district, health teams continue support

Floodwater remains 30 to 50 centimeters deep in parts of Phan Thong district, although levels are continuing to recede.

CHONBURI, Thailand – Floodwater in Phan Thong district is continuing to recede, with health officials maintaining support for affected residents and vulnerable groups. As of 2 p.m. on October 4, flooding remained in eight subdistricts covering 34 villages and 1,006 households. Water levels were between 30 and 50 centimeters and continued to fall. Floodwater has already receded completely in Bang Hak and Nong Hong subdistricts. In Ban Kao, flooding remains only on roads and has not affected residents’ homes.



At Amata Industrial Estate Phases 8 and 9, water levels were around 38 to 45 centimeters and were falling by about 10 centimeters per day. The Phan Thong District Public Health Office and health teams are continuing to monitor the situation, provide care to people at evacuation shelters and closely assess vulnerable residents, including their mental health. Health officials distributed another 104 flood-relief medicine kits on October 4, bringing the cumulative total to 2,014 kits. Authorities said health teams will continue monitoring the situation and coordinating assistance for affected residents.
