BANGKOK, Thailand – During the visit, the Prime Minister met with affected residents and vulnerable groups at the temporary shelter at Bang Khen School (Wai Sali Anuson), where the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation distributed 170 relief kits to ease immediate hardships. The delegation included Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Interior Ministers Jeseth Thaiseth and Worasit Liangprasit, Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, and senior representatives from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Health, Royal Thai Police, and local district authorities.
The flood situation in Lak Si District, which began on September 25, has affected 39 communities along Klong Prem Prachakorn, affecting 10,017 households and 69,565 residents. To support displaced residents, the Lak Si District Office opened three temporary shelters at Keha Thasai School, Wat Lak Si School, and Bang Khen School (Wai Sali Anuson). The Bang Khen School shelter currently houses 170 people, including 14 children, four people with disabilities, and 15 elderly individuals. Following the site inspection in Lak Si, Prime Minister Anutin and his team proceeded to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to monitor flood conditions and relief efforts in other affected areas nationwide.
