SATTAHIP, Thailand — Heavy rain and strong wind gusts toppled large trees at several locations in Sattahip, Chonburi, on September 27, damaging homes, communication lines and walls while blocking roads and disrupting traffic.
The worst-affected areas included Moo 5, Moo 7 and Moo 10 in Bang Saray subdistrict, as well as Route 332 at the J intersection–Kasem Phon section, where a large tree fell across the roadway.
Following reports of the incidents, Klet Kaew Subdistrict Municipality Mayor Sombat Kaewpathum, and municipal council members inspected the affected areas and directed disaster prevention and mitigation personnel to assist residents.
Crews cut branches, removed fallen trees and cleared other obstacles to reopen roads and reduce risks to the public. On Route 332, officials successfully removed the fallen tree and restored traffic flow. Authorities advised residents to remain cautious while rain and strong wind gusts continue, particularly motorists and pedestrians. People were also advised to avoid parking or staying near large trees and to closely monitor weather conditions.
