CHONBURI, Thailand – Flooding has closed both directions of the M7 motorway at Km 81+900 in Ban Nong Kha, Sri Racha, after water from a parallel road flowed onto the main carriageway. The Department of Highways reported on September 26 that vehicles cannot pass the flooded section in either direction and advised motorists to avoid the area temporarily while crews work to resolve the situation.
For inbound traffic, motorists are advised to leave the M7 at Nong Kham Interchange and rejoin the motorway at Bang Phra or Ban Bueng Interchange. For outbound traffic, motorists should leave the M7 at Ban Bueng Interchange and use alternative routes. Highway officials have deployed crews to manage traffic and assist motorists while coordinating with the traffic control centre to display warnings on variable message signs.
Motorists are advised to plan journeys in advance, follow traffic signs and instructions from officials, and check road conditions before travelling as the situation may change.
