CHACHOENGSAO, Thailand – Chachoengsao Governor Chatrpra-on Niyom inspected a damaged bridge over the Si Yat Canal in Tha Takiap district on September 26 after heavy rain and rising water caused the structure to break, leaving it unusable and disrupting travel for local residents.
The governor, accompanied by Deputy Governor Prasit Intachot and Chachoengsao Provincial Administrative Organisation President Kulyut Chaisang, visited Ban Tha Manao in Khlong Takrao subdistrict to assess the damage and the impact on the community.
Officials inspected the site and bridge structure and received reports on water levels, structural damage and the effects on residents. The information will be used to determine appropriate assistance and plans for restoring safe access.
Chatrpra-on ordered relevant agencies to urgently survey and assess the damage and check the structural stability of the bridge. Officials were also instructed to identify solutions and establish a safe alternative route to reduce disruption to residents.
District officials, local administrative organizations, village leaders and other agencies were told to closely monitor water levels and remain ready to assist residents if conditions worsen, with public safety and protection of property given priority.
Chachoengsao has also prepared personnel, machinery and equipment to respond to flooding, particularly in low-lying and high-risk areas, working with the provincial administrative organisation and other agencies to limit the impact. The province continues to closely monitor the flood situation and accelerate assistance to affected communities.
