BANGKOK, Thailand – The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), under the Ministry of Transport, has waived toll fees on all eight expressway routes to ease travel disruptions caused by heavy rain and flooding in several areas. The toll exemption began at 1 p.m. on September 26 and will continue until midnight on September 27 following an order from Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn.
The eight expressways covered are:
- Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway (First-Stage Expressway)
- Si Rat Expressway (Second-Stage Expressway)
- Chalong Rat Expressway (Ram Inthra–At Narong and Outer Ring Road)
- Burapha Withi Expressway (Bang Na–Chonburi)
- Udon Ratthaya Expressway (Bang Pa-in–Pak Kret)
- Bang Na–At Narong Expressway (S1)
- Kanchanaphisek Expressway (Bang Phli–Suksawat)
- Prachim Ratthaya Expressway (Si Rat–Outer Ring Road)
EXAT, together with Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM), has deployed traffic management teams to monitor conditions and inspect routes closely. Officials will provide updates on affected entry and exit ramps, including locations that may be temporarily closed or unable to operate, allowing motorists to plan their journeys and choose alternative routes. EXAT urged motorists to exercise extra caution, follow instructions from traffic officials and regularly check updates on traffic conditions and available routes through EXAT’s public information channels.
