PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya authorities are stepping up their response to continuing heavy rain and strong winds, clearing fallen trees, distributing sandbags to residents and maintaining teams at flood-risk locations across the city. Heavy rain and gusty winds caused trees to fall at several locations and damaged overhead cables. Pattaya’s Botany Division under the Office of Natural Resources and Environment worked to remove the fallen trees and clear affected areas, with the clean-up completed on September 25.
Meanwhile, the city’s Drainage System Maintenance Division under the Sanitation Engineering Office has been distributing sandbags directly to residents who need protection from rising water. People requiring sandbags can contact Pattaya City’s 1337 hotline for assistance. Rain continues to fall intermittently across Pattaya, ranging from heavy to lighter showers. City officials have stationed personnel at flood-prone and other high-risk locations to monitor conditions and respond to problems.
Residents, particularly those living in areas that regularly experience flooding, are being advised to keep valuables and important belongings in safe places and closely monitor the weather situation.
Pattaya City is also asking residents to report flooding, fallen trees, damaged infrastructure or other problems through the 1337 hotline so crews can respond. With further rain possible, authorities are maintaining their readiness while continuing to monitor vulnerable areas across the city.
