PATTAYA, Thailand – Pattaya is preparing to become the stage for an ambitious world-record attempt combining skydiving, a historic Thai national flag and a large public celebration on December 5. The “One Flag Thailand” project will see skydivers carry a historic Tricolour flag above Pattaya Beach as part of a mission organizers say is intended to showcase Thai capability and bring people together through a shared national symbol.
Mayor Poramet Ngampichet recently visited the team and skydivers in Pattaya to offer encouragement as preparations continue for the major aerial event. The official project launch is scheduled for October 14 at Siam Paragon in Bangkok, followed by the main World Record event at Pattaya Beach on December 5. The program is expected to include a skydiving display, a public singing of the national anthem, activities at the event site and a concert.
Ahead of the main event, the team will conduct extensive training and system tests in Pattaya, covering skydiving operations, landing zones, weather conditions, security arrangements, ground teams, boats, ambulances and coordination with relevant agencies. Organizers say the project goes beyond the world-record attempt, with December 5 intended as a day for people to come together and witness a major event taking place above Pattaya. ONE FLAG. ONE NATION. ONE WORLD RECORD.
