BANGKOK, Thailand – The Department of Foreign Trade has continued its “Winning in Trade: Turning Changes into Opportunities: Driving Success,” seminar series in Rayong, following earlier events in Bangkok and Khon Kaen. The latest session brought together more than 200 entrepreneurs, importers and exporters, students, and members of the public.
Secretary of the Department of Foreign Trade Monta Pantong said that Rayong was selected as the latest venue to expand access to trade knowledge among regional businesses, given the province’s strengths in industry, agriculture, and exports, as well as its role in the Eastern Economic Corridor, or EEC.
The seminar focused on helping businesses keep pace with changes in global trade and regulations, develop and add value to their products through innovation, and make greater use of digital services and trade benefits to expand into international markets. Experts and successful entrepreneurs also shared their experiences in developing innovative agricultural products, including Future Food trends, zero-waste business models, the transformation of Lanna black rice into value-added products, and strategies for developing innovative agricultural products for international markets.
Participants also took part in a practical workshop on the Department of Foreign Trade’s digital systems: SMART-I for export and import certificates, ROVERs Plus for paperless origin verification, and SMART C/O for certificates of origin. The department aims to expand access to its digital tools and services among regional businesses, helping them adapt to changes in global trade, enhance product value, and gain greater access to international markets.
