BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul joined House deliberations on the draft Budget Expenditure Act for Fiscal Year 2027 on Sep 7, attending its second and third readings ahead of his scheduled departure for Norway later in the evening.
Anutin is scheduled to travel to Norway after His Majesty the King appointed him as His Majesty’s representative to attend the funeral ceremony for His Majesty King Harald V of Norway. He told reporters he expects government operations to continue normally during his several-day absence and will remain in close contact with officials to coordinate relevant matters from abroad.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanprapas, chairman of the House ad hoc committee scrutinizing the budget bill, will remain in Parliament to explain its provisions and answer lawmakers’ questions. Once the House completes its deliberations, the fiscal 2027 budget bill will proceed to the Senate for consideration. (NNT)
