BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai News Agency issued an official statement rejecting allegations that its recent interview with the Israeli ambassador to Thailand was paid public relations work for the embassy. The outlet stated that its Sept. 4 exclusive interview with Ambassador Alona Fisher-Kamm, aimed to address public interest regarding Israeli tourists, long-term residents, business operations, Chabad centers, and official Thai-Israeli cooperation. TNA noted it was the first news organization to request the interview to verify facts objectively.
The statement highlighted TNA’s prior investigative work, including a May 2026 series on foreign nominee businesses in Koh Phangan, which later expanded to Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Chachoengsao. TNA was also the first to report that prominent figures behind local Chabad operations and businesses obtained Thai citizenship via the Ministry of Interior in 2017.
TNA rejected all online and media claims regarding embassy sponsorship as false, asserting that such allegations harm its professional reputation and stating its commitment to continued investigative coverage on foreign capital and public interest issues.
