BANGKOK, Thailand – Their Majesties the King and Queen have graciously provided humanitarian relief supplies to support communities in northern Nepal affected by severe flash floods and landslides. On September 5, 2026, Their Majesties appointed Privy Councilor Air Chief Marshal Chom Rungsawang to present the royal relief supplies to Nepalese Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli at Wing 6, Royal Thai Air Force Headquarters.
This assistance aims to alleviate the suffering of the Nepalese people following the devastating natural disaster on August 26, 2026, which caused significant casualties, missing persons, mass displacement, and extensive damage to homes and infrastructure. Their Majesties also conveyed a royal message of condolence to the President of Nepal on behalf of the Thai people.
The Royal Thai Air Force is coordinating the transport of donated items to the Royal Thai Embassy in Nepal, where they will be transferred to the Nepalese government for immediate distribution to those affected. The relief packages include sleeping tents, emergency sleeping bags, children’s relief kits, generators, flashlights, safety helmets, and other essential survival supplies.
The assistance reflects Their Majesties’ compassion and goodwill toward a friendly nation in times of crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Their Majesties also provided essential medical equipment and supplies to support Nepal’s public health response and alleviate hardship. (NNT)
