BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul met with 76 ambassadors, foreign consuls, and heads of international organizations at Government House today (Sep 4), reaffirming Thailand’s direction toward openness, global connectivity, and shared growth. The premier called for foreign relations to expand opportunities in investment, technology, knowledge, market access, and workforce development.
Thailand is pursuing public-sector reform and economic restructuring while moving toward future industries, emerging technologies, and higher-value activities. The government is also advancing the country’s OECD accession process to align institutions, regulations, and governance more closely with international standards. Priority areas for international cooperation include the digital economy, clean energy, advanced industries, food, and healthcare.
Anutin made clear Thailand’s readiness to work with all countries and encouraged the diplomatic community to explore new opportunities with Cabinet members and Thai trade representatives. Upcoming international engagements, including the UN General Assembly, the Pre-COP meeting in Fiji, the IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meetings in Bangkok, and the ASEAN Summit, will provide opportunities to present Thailand’s economic potential and expand cooperation. Following the meeting, Anutin presented 7 million baht and relief supplies to the ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, for people affected by a recent debris-flow disaster. (NNT)
